I avoided listening to them for the last 25 days or so, to keep freshness. So since the new album is out today I can enjoy again. Silly yes but it does right for me. Here come those dancing feet. I always think this must be what Cylon music would sound like, all electronic and robotty sounding.
Yesterday I had 2 of those convergence moments, in the same end of a store.
1: I walked past the hair salon at the department store where about ten years ago I remembered my friend Stacy started working. We didn't stay in touch but I wondered where she was. There above a mirror at one of the stations it read Stacey. Then I saw a bit of her reflection further in. I'm not saying it's bad she is still there. If she is happy then I am happy too. I knew her as such a go getter and having long lists of to-do's that it surprised me to see her in one place. I guess I thought she saw the place as temporary when she first started because it wasn't terribly busy there. After I left I thought I should have gone for a haircut and say hey let's catch up. I still could I suppose, just scared of re approaching the past.
2: Same store 30 minutes later. A man coming up the aisle looks familiar. Just as he passes it rings in. I went on a date with him when I was 18 or 19. We drove around and chatted, I was giddy. After we kissed in front of my building, I enjoyed the feel of his closely shaved man cheek and he asked me to feel his "excitement". Anyway, I am glad I missed that train wreck. He was a 30year old ex-cop then, blond, tan and beefy, pretty hot to be honest. But he also knew that and acted arrogantly. So now he is skinny legged and has a fat head, still blond and tan tho. The beef has redistributed in a different way. I wonder if he is still arrogant? It's interesting to see someone age 15 plus years in a day.
